There’s no right or wrong way to be quarantined. As far as you are staying home, you are saving huge lives and being safe. There’s such a rage going on the internet to showcase your new hobby, your new haircut, your new recipes and whatnot. After nearly three weeks of your self-isolation, I’m sure you must have tried most of it, dalgona, TikTok video, binge-watching Netflix, zoom call, mask selfies, etc.
Now what?
Here we’ll discuss few sanity saver soul makeover practices which would not only soothe your urge of doing different modifications about you but would also help you in going back to that world as a better person than before.
Gardening in quarantine
Even if you have a small yard, a corner or even just a window ledge, there’s no better balm to the soul than planting seeds, watching them grow, bearing flowers, fruits. Think about waking up to these plants, flowers and soil fragrances.
Painting in quarantine
I had always dreamt of going up in nature somewhere with a big sketchbook and paint. But with no time and no painting skills, this had always remained a fantasy. I’m sure I’m not alone. So why not give it a try when we all are walled in? Painting/colouring is very therapeutic and a doable hobby which can be tried. Also, you don’t need many supplies or talent to start with. Just start by painting your colourful imagination. Maybe later, you might also excel at it.
Meditation during quarantine
Even we are put to rest by the current situation, our minds are rarely resting because of the saturation of corona news, anxiety and psychological overload. Meditation is a brain recharger which can rescue you from all the unrest you’ve been feeling throughout your life. Think about it! If not now, then when? Once you start doing it, I’m sure you’ll feel that this is something you should have started meditation long ago.
Social distancing can be a life-changing experience if we could just relax our minds and take little steps towards the soul makeover. Try to limit your time online, go for that deep thinking (not overthinking), bird watch, learn something new, take a regular bath, get plenty of good sleep, cook and bake, read a lot, embrace a new hobby, declutter and just remember, this is your “me time”. Why not spend it wisely. No rules! Over n out.
